I’ve been working behind the scenes to understand better how all this works and trying to add some new capabilities to the blog. You will note in the left side bar that that Tag Cloud is now set so that when you click on a tagword there, it will give you all our posts that included that tag. The bigger and greener the word, the more links available.
A bit further down the bar there under Links you’ll see our new Syndicate section. Here you can add our RSS feed to your MSN, Yahoo and/or Google “Home” page. You can also add us to your Bloglines page (a very cool page if you haven’t tried it yet. It makes a nice spot to consolidate all your RSS feeds in a single spot. Next is a couple of links to Technorati, one that shows if any other sites out there are linking to the page your reading (whether that’s our front page, a post page, or one of our “special” pages listed at the top of the left sidebar). The second Technorati tag links to there site where you can do lots of cool things.
Below that is a link that lets you bookmark the current page in your Del.icio.us page. If you have not tried that service I urge you to pick our main page or a post or page you want to come back to easily, press this button and it will take to yo uDel.icio.us where you can do several very cool things. Lastly, there’s a link there to geourl that uses location meta tags to tell you what other blogs are produced near the world wide headquarters for LostInaFog.com. Blogstreet offers a fun game that basically allows you to bet on whcih blogs will grow. I haven’t had time to explore it more seriously yet, but feel free.
In the right toolbar I added a section that links to the last 5 comments made on the site so you can follow comment conversations if you so desire.
I now have Technorati tags attached to each story and list them right under the title. I’m hoping that this will work better for us as we grow and allow more folks to find content they might care about, and LostInaFog in general. To date, I’ve some issues getting Technorati ot regularly update their info on us and am trying to get a bit more dialog from them. I’m trying to figure out the magic whereby they pick up a few links then drop off the map for days at a time. Hopefully this will be resolved soon.
My webalizer stats show that the site is now getting 300-600 page views per day, and over a thousand hits most days in the last week. We appreciate all of you who drop by and visit. Please feel free to comment on our postings or comment in your own blogs with trackbacks. Links and comments help the search sites notice us more.

One Response to “LostInaFog Blog Ch-ch-changes (and updates)”
1,000 hits a day. Congrats!
I do have to say, though, that that is about the only paragraph that I understood at all.
I am thinking we are ready for updates on the books read, magazines received and weight (or even better - inches)(hopefully) lost.
